Making the Land Cultural
Michálková, Kateřina ; Trejbal, Jan (referee) ; Ambrůz, Jan (advisor)
Cultural Landscape Drinkers for cattle For my bachelor thesis I chose the topic which is dealing with the landscape and man's relationship to it. The selected area is unused rural landscape with almost no use at this moment. The project, among other things deals with the design of site-specific objects, sometimes land art installation. Javorníky valley, between the villages Bohuslavice u Zlína and Salaš, was consisted of a small fields. In 70s they built a fence around the valley with a drinkers inside and they began graze a cattle. Field were changed into pasture for several years . But already in the 80s was pasture canceled and cultural quality of the valley began to deteriorate. Present day, the area is primarily for hunting, cultivated by local Hunting Association. The result looks that the valley is overgrown, most of the meadows are not to mowed and the forest is expanding. The journey disappears. No one other is interested in the local landscape, and is here just a fewwho are attend it. My project uses construction of drinkers which are deployed in the valley. A concrete blocks with metal structures can serve as a basis for sculptural and architectural objects. Places in the landscape that have lost their meaning can be reused. And hopefully it will help to attract the people back into the landscape.

Belopotocký, Maroš ; Bureš, David (referee) ; Sládeček, Svatopluk (advisor)
The task of the bachelor's thesis is to design the completion of the Faculty of Architecture in the BUT campus in the Brno-centre district between Úvoz, Údolní and Tvrdého streets, due to the planned transfer of the faculty from the current premises on Poříčí Street. The issue of completion allows for the expansion of the faculty premises and the addition of capacities for which the current situation no longer has a place. The project also addresses the use of the original historic buildings and the connection of the Faculty of Architecture with the Faculty of Fine Arts within one area.

Moggert, Monika ; Pospíšil, Zdeněk (referee) ; Boháč, Ivo (advisor)
Theme of my work is arguable for the cities which are situated near the river. Riverbanks are really nice public space but a lot of them are not "designed for people". Before I started do this work I was thinking about places which are ignored or overlooked in Znojmo town. Yes, town has a lot of places which are interesting and need "new face". There are brownfiels but problems of these localities was designed many times. And I wanted to find some new way, try restore and improve public space in connecting by the river. I chose locality which connect two important buildings – Znojmo castle and Louka monastery. There is needed to improve connection this locality to town centre.
Detection of Papillary Line Width by Fingerprints
Homola, Antonín ; Drahanský, Martin (referee) ; Lodrová, Dana (advisor)
This work outlines a method of detection of the papillary line width in fingerprints. This method is one of the possible methods of liveness detection. The first part of the work with deals defining of the fingerprint, attacks on today's systems and possibilities to improve security. The next section detection describes of the papillary line width. During the process of resolving, the first thing to do was to start operation of the scanning device and to read the database for tests and experiments. An independent application was created on this purpose. Further, there were projected methods for detection and measuring of the papillary line width. Use of the Canny edge detector with the Sobel operator and the Gaussian filter proved the best. Then, there is described implementation of individual methods. The next part of the work describes and assesses the results of the tests. The last chapter summarizes the work and proposes further possibilities of development.
Morphology of valley networks
Kusák, Michal ; Křížek, Marek (advisor) ; Hartvich, Filip (referee)
This bachelor thesis is engaged in the juxtaposition and different methods account of valley networks. Thanks to the background research of the late published literature, there are known a lot of types of valley network, which result in various types of relief and the criteria by which can the different types of valley networks be identified and distinguished from other types of valley networks. Methods of characterizing the valley networks are used to describe the valley of the same type of networks in different areas, respectively allow their comparison. In the interested area of CHKO Kokořínsko, there were studied the valley network order, the type of the valley network, the bifurcation ratio, connected of valley network, the fractal dimension, the valley network homogenity and the allometry of the valley of some parts. Valley networks in the studied areas of Pšovka and Liběchovka were identified as trellis and valley network of studied area of Vlhošt was described as a radial type of valley network with elements of annular valley network.
